Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Oven and Pans

- Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans or line with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

Step 3: Mix the Wet Ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk together oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar until smooth.
Step 4: Combine the Batter
- Gradually add the wet mixture into the dry ingredients.
- Mix until fully combined and smooth.
Step 5: Bake
- Divide batter evenly between prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 28–32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 6: Make the Frosting
- Beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth and fluffy.
- Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
- Beat until creamy and spreadable.
Step 7: Assemble the Cake
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate.
- Spread frosting evenly on top.
- Add the second cake layer and frost the top and sides of the cake.
