1. Soften the cabbage
Bring a large pot of water to boil. Carefully place the whole cabbage in and cook 3β5 minutes until outer leaves soften. Remove and peel off 10β12 large leaves. Trim the thick stem part so they roll easily.
2. Make the filling
In a bowl, combine ground beef, uncooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until just combined.
3. Fill the leaves
Place about 2β3 tablespoons filling near the base of each leaf. Fold sides inward and roll tightly like a burrito.
4. Prepare the sauce
Mix tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, and pepper.
5. Cook the rolls (stovetop method)
